At the consumer level, the main climate drivers are dependent upon the behaviours or individual preferences of people. This is where many who want to avoid systemic changes advocate for change as it leaves it at the personal level and allows for the status quo to continue in its current form.

That said, the consumer level is still important and once again it must be said that addressing climate change needs to happen at all levels including the consumer stage. In addition to the common points on how people can make smart decisions for the environment, the consumer level is where people can influence trends by redirecting their money to certain causes or businesses that align with their priorities or make their voice heard through voting and community organizing.
